Which Coleman Mach RV air conditioner is right for my rig?

Match the unit to your roof opening (standard 14" x 14" vent cutout) and your cooling load. The Mach 15 (38204-066) delivers 15,000 BTU and is the highest-output option in the series, suited to larger fifth wheels and Class A coaches. The Mach 8 Plus runs 13,500 BTU in a low-profile housing for travel trailers where roof height matters. Mach 3 Plus and Mach 10 sit in the 13,500 BTU range for mid-size trailers. Confirm whether your ceiling is set up for ducted installation or non-ducted before ordering, since the ceiling assembly is sold separately.

Do Coleman Mach units with heat pumps replace a furnace?

No. Heat pump models like the Mach 8 Cub HP and Mach 15 Power Saver HP add supplemental electric heating down to roughly 35°F outside ambient, which is useful for shoulder-season mornings on shore power. Below that temperature the heat pump loses efficiency and you will still need your LP furnace. Heat pump units require the matching Power Saver HP ceiling assembly for ducted setups to wire the reversing valve correctly.

What is the difference between the Coleman Mach 8 and Mach 15?

The Mach 8 is a low-profile 13,500 BTU unit standing about 9.75" above the roof, designed for trailers with garage or height clearance concerns. The Mach 15 is a 15,000 BTU high-output unit at roughly 14.5" tall, with the largest fan motor and highest CFM in the Coleman lineup. If you camp in hot climates (Texas, Arizona, Florida summer), the Mach 15 moves measurably more air. If clearance or weight is the priority, the Mach 8 is the answer.

What ships with the rooftop unit, and what do I need to buy separately?

Coleman Mach rooftop units ship with the roof unit, gasket, and mounting hardware. You will need the ceiling assembly (ducted or non-ducted) and a thermostat if you are not reusing existing components. Pair the install with a hard-start kit to reduce inrush current on older electrical systems, and check our RV electronics collection for surge protection and capacitors. Rooftop AC units ship via truck freight; freight cost is shown at checkout.
