What is a Coleman ducted ceiling assembly and when do I need one?

A ducted ceiling assembly is the interior plenum that connects a rooftop Coleman Mach air conditioner to your RV's overhead ductwork, directing cooled air through ceiling registers rather than dumping it from a single grille. You need this assembly when your rig has factory ducting in the ceiling and you are installing or replacing a ducted Coleman Mach unit such as the Mach 15 (38204-066) or Mach 3 Plus. If your RV has no ductwork and air discharges directly below the AC, you want a non-ducted assembly instead. See our Coleman Power Saver HP Ceiling Assembly for Ducted Installations for the heat pump variant.

Will this ceiling assembly fit my Coleman Mach 15 or Mach 3?

The assemblies in this collection are built for ducted Coleman Mach rooftop units, including the Mach 15 (38204-066), Mach 3 Plus, and Mach 1. Fitment depends on the specific assembly part number and whether your unit uses an analog or digital control board, so confirm your existing model number stamped on the rooftop shroud or interior grille before ordering. If you need help cross-referencing, text or call 817-984-1852. Pair the install with a Coleman RV Air Conditioner Soft Start kit to reduce compressor inrush current on startup.

What is the difference between a ducted and non-ducted ceiling assembly?

A ducted assembly routes conditioned air into the RV's overhead duct system and distributes it through multiple ceiling vents along the length of the coach. A non-ducted assembly discharges air directly into the room through louvers on the assembly itself, used in shorter trailers and smaller campers without overhead ducting. The two are not interchangeable. If your rig is non-ducted, look at our Dometic Ceiling Assembly for Non-Ducted Installations or the Furrion Original Ceiling Assembly for Non-Ducted Installations instead.

Does the ceiling assembly include the thermostat and control board?

It depends on the specific part number. Some Coleman ducted ceiling assemblies ship as complete kits with the control board, thermostat, and roof compression gasket, while others are sold as the plenum and grille only and expect you to reuse the existing control components. Check the product description for the included parts list before ordering, and confirm whether your installation calls for a wall thermostat or a ceiling-mounted control. Orders over $100 ship free.
