What is the difference between a kingpin stabilizer and a regular RV leveler?

A kingpin stabilizer mounts to the kingpin or front landing gear area of a fifth wheel to reduce side-to-side and front-to-back rocking when the rig is parked and uncoupled from the tow vehicle. A regular RV leveler (scissor jack, electric leveler, or stack block) adjusts the rig's height to compensate for uneven ground. Most fifth wheel owners use both: levelers to set the rig flat, then a kingpin stabilizer to lock out the bounce you feel when walking around inside.

Will a kingpin stabilizer fit my fifth wheel?

Most kingpin stabilizers in this collection adjust to fit standard fifth wheel kingpin heights, but you should confirm your kingpin-to-ground measurement with the front landing gear extended to your normal parked position. Check the product page for the specific height range and base footprint before ordering. If you are not sure which model matches your rig, text or call our team at 817-984-1852 with your RV make, model, and year and we can confirm fitment.

What other accessories help reduce RV movement and setup time?

Pair a kingpin stabilizer with quality wheel chocks and leveling blocks for a fully stable setup. Many owners also add an RV surge protector at the pedestal and the right RV plug adapter for the campground hookup before they level the rig. For longer stays, an RV patio mat keeps the area under your slide clean while you are parked.

How much weight can these RV stabilizers support?

Load ratings vary by model. Most kingpin and tripod-style stabilizers in this collection are rated between 5,000 and 8,000 pounds of vertical static load, which covers the pin weight of the majority of half-ton and three-quarter-ton fifth wheels. Check the individual product specifications for the exact weight capacity, and remember that a stabilizer is designed to reduce movement, not to lift or support the full weight of the trailer.
