Aires acondicionados para vehículos recreativos GE Appliances con refrigerante R32

What is R32 refrigerant and why does GE use it in these RV air conditioners?

R32 is a single-component HFC refrigerant with a global warming potential roughly one-third that of R-410A and better heat-transfer efficiency, which lets GE run a smaller charge for the same BTU output. For your RV, that translates to quicker pull-down on hot afternoons and slightly lower amp draw on shore power. R32 is the current standard GE Appliances has adopted across their RV rooftop lineup.

Will a GE R32 rooftop unit fit my existing 14x14 RV roof opening?

Yes. GE Appliances RV air conditioners use the industry-standard 14 x 14 inch roof cutout, so they drop into the same opening as most Coleman, Dometic, and Furrion units. You will still need to match the ceiling assembly to your configuration (ducted vs. non-ducted) and confirm your power source can handle the amp draw at startup. If you are replacing a Coleman unit and want to reduce inrush current, pair it with a Coleman RV air conditioner soft start kit.

Do I need a separate ceiling assembly with a GE R32 air conditioner?

The rooftop unit and the ceiling assembly are sold separately so you can match the assembly to your duct setup and thermostat type. If your rig runs ducted air through the ceiling, look at a ducted ceiling assembly. For non-ducted rigs with a wall thermostat, the non-ducted ceiling assembly with wall thermostat is the correct pairing. Confirm your model number before ordering to make sure you get the right control wiring.

How does the cooling capacity compare across the GE R32 lineup?

GE Appliances offers RV rooftop units in the standard 13,500 BTU and 15,000 BTU ratings. The 13,500 BTU models are the right call for most travel trailers and smaller Class C coaches running on a 30-amp service. The 15,000 BTU models pull more amps at startup and are sized for larger fifth wheels, Class A motorhomes, and rigs parked in extended heat. Match the BTU rating to your square footage and electrical service rather than always picking the larger unit.

Does United RV Parts ship these rooftop units, and how?

Rooftop air conditioners ship via truck freight because of weight and crate size, and freight charges are calculated at checkout. Smaller accessories in this collection (gaskets, hardware, soft start kits) ship via standard ground. Orders over $100 on ground-eligible items qualify for free shipping.
