What is a Coleman ceiling assembly for non-ducted installations?

A non-ducted ceiling assembly is the interior plenum that mounts to the bottom of a Coleman rooftop air conditioner when your RV does not have ductwork running through the roof. It directs conditioned air straight down into the cabin through adjustable louvers and houses the return air filter and control interface. If your rig has a single AC unit blowing air directly into the living space rather than through ceiling vents, you need the non-ducted version.

How do I know if I need a ducted or non-ducted assembly?

Look at your ceiling: if air enters the cabin directly below the rooftop AC unit through louvers on the assembly itself, it is non-ducted. If air travels through your roof and exits through separate registers in other parts of the RV, it is ducted. For ducted setups, see our Coleman Power Saver HP ceiling assembly for ducted installations. Always confirm your model number before ordering.

Will this assembly work with other brands of rooftop units?

These assemblies are engineered for Coleman-Mach rooftop units. They are not cross-compatible with Dometic, Furrion, or Advent rooftop AC units because the mounting footprint, electrical connections, and air pathway differ between brands. If you have a different brand, check the Dometic non-ducted ceiling assembly or the Furrion Original non-ducted ceiling assembly instead.

Can I pair this with a soft start kit to reduce startup load?

Yes. A soft start kit reduces inrush current at compressor startup, which helps when running your Coleman AC on a 30-amp pedestal, a generator, or solar with an inverter. The ceiling assembly itself does not affect compatibility with a soft start, since the soft start installs at the rooftop unit. See our Coleman RV air conditioner soft start collection for the matching kit.

How do I confirm the right part number before ordering?

Check the data tag on your existing ceiling assembly or rooftop unit for the Coleman model number (for example, the 9330 or 9430 series). Match that number against the listings in this collection. If you are replacing a damaged assembly, photograph the old unit and the wiring connections before removal. Need help confirming fitment? Text or call our team at 817-984-1852.
